EN: The article analyzes the current situation at the radioactive waste storage facilities of the
Production Association "Pridneprovsky Chemical Plant" (JSC "PCP"). Influence of various factors on the choice of the strategy of further management of uranium wastes
at the JSC "PCP" is evaluated. Proceeding from the requirement of long-term
preservation of compliance of the state of radioactive waste storage facilities with
current regulatory acts and minimization of the costs of their servicing, a strategy of
further management of uranium wastes at the JSC "PCP" has been developed. The
strategy is to implement a complex of remediation measures in contaminated areas that
allow withdrawing them from maintenance and regulatory control and returning these
territories to free, unlimited or at least useful usage by local communities or new owners.
The proposed organizational and economic mechanism for implementation of the
strategy for further handling of uranium waste storage facilities at the JSC "PCP"
includes preparatory, sampling, design, technological and monitoring stages.
