Діяльність китайських ТНК на африканському континенті: економічний вплив і перспективи

Abstract

UK: У статті проаналізовано стратегічну роль китайських транснаціональних корпорацій (ТНК) у трансформації глобального економічного простору, зосереджуючи увагу на їхній активній експансії в країни Африки. Розкрито ключові характеристики китайської моделі інтернаціоналізації бізнесу: тісну взаємодію ТНК із державними структурами, довгострокове стратегічне планування, орієнтацію на країни Глобального Півдня та реалізацію інфраструктурно-сировинних проєктів. Висвітлено інституційні механізми підтримки, зокрема державне фінансування, дипломатичний супровід та створення спеціальних економічних зон. Проведено аналіз впливу китайських ТНК на країни Африки в економічному, соціальному, технологічному, екологічному та геополітичному вимірах. Запропоновано науково обґрунтовані рекомендації щодо забезпечення взаємовигідного співробітництва.

EN: The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the activities of Chinese transnational corporations (TNCs) as an important tool for implementing China's geo-economic strategy. Particular attention is paid to their expansion into Africa, which occupies an important place in China's foreign economic policy in the twenty-first century. The paper identifies the key features of Chinese TNCs that distinguish them from Western ones: close ties with Chinese government structures, long-term strategic orientation, focus on the Global South, infrastructure and raw materials model of activity, low level of localization, less attention to ESG standards, flexibility and centralized financing. It is proved that Chinese TNCs operate in close connection with state structures and perform not only economic but also strategic functions aimed at strengthening China's global influence. The article reveals the peculiarities of the Chinese model of business internationalization, which combines economic expediency with political interests, includes active state funding, diplomatic support, creation of institutional conditions for expansion, and focuses on long-term infrastructure projects in developing countries. The specifics of the sectoral presence of Chinese TNCs are revealed: in the energy sector (access to oil and gas on the terms of "energy in exchange for infrastructure"), telecommunications (Huawei, ZTE), extraction of strategic resources (copper, cobalt, uranium, bauxite), as well as transport and social infrastructure. It is shown that this model of presence provides China with resource security, expands its markets, and strengthens its political influence. At the same time, it gives rise to contradictions: debt dependence, limited localization, environmental risks, and social tensions. The article summarizes the consequences of TNCs' activities in a table in five categories (economy, society, technology, environment, politics) and outlines ways to optimize cooperation for African countries through transparency of agreements, protection of labor rights, environmental control, and institutional capacity building.
